Comfortable clothing (ideally cotton for a better grip) that won’t catch if you are inverted
No shoes are allowed in the studio so please wear socks if it is cold
No watches or jewelry should be worn during classes
You can bring your own yoga mat and a water bottle if you have one.
You can rent a mat for R20 at the studio.
All other equipment is provided free of charge
Beginners are most welcome at Shakti Yoga Therapy Centre.
However, please confirm the level of the class on the weekly schedule before making a booking.
Please inform the teacher immediately if you are not feeling well. They will advise you of a few poses you can rest in while you recover.
There is space inside the studio to store your bags and phones.
Please make sure your phone is turned off for the full duration of the lesson.
It will depend on the style of yoga and the level of the class. For serious health conditions, we recommend you take a few private or therapy classes before joining the group classes.
This will ensure that you are given the correct techniques to ensure the condition or injury is not exacerbated.
Yes, please ensure that you have made a booking before attending any classes at the studio.
If there are less than 3 confirmed booking the class will be canceled.
Ideally no food should be eaten at least 3 hours before class, light meals 2 hours prior.
Water cannot be taken 30 minutes before class or during the lesson. If you are very thirsty please only take small sips during the lesson.
Please drink plenty of water afterwards!
No, we do not heat the studio, except during the winter season to make the class comfortable.
Please ensure that you can stay for the full class duration to enjoy the benefits of your practice
