"I found the retreat amazing! Every aspect of my stay was a 1 on your form! The accommodation was exquisite and the food was the best vegetarian food I've tasted. The yoga was challenging and rewarding. It is the first time I have ever managed to stay focused enough to enjoy the benefits of meditation. I came back to Joburg feeling relaxed and centred."

Kurisa Moya Nature Lodge nestled in the Northern Drakensberg escarpment in Limpopo Province is near Magoebaskloof and Polokwane. This eco-lodge offers beauty in nature, peace and tranquillity, close to birds and animals. It is only 45 minutes from Polokwane and 3- 4 hours from Johannesburg. This piece of paradise truly embodies its Xitsonga name, Kurisa Moya, meaning Tranquil Spirit. It is a place where you can revive your soul. With mountains, indigenous forest, rivers and bushveld in a peaceful, private setting, what more could you want? Kurisa Moya Nature Lodge has 422 hectares of diverse habitats. Two mountains loom 1900 metres over the farm on one border overlooking a beautiful indigenous forest nestled in the valley. This forest is home to a large variety of beautiful birds, animals and flora. Pine plantations from previous generations of woodcutters give way to grasslands and African bushveld on the lower part of the farm where two dams are fed by clear mountain streams. The mist belt and rainfall on the shadow side of the mountain provides moisture for mushrooms, moss, ferns and orchids in the indigenous forest and allows Yellow-woods, Cussonias (Cabbage Trees) and other forest trees to grow to impressive heights. The Cussonia has been named a Champion Tree and is thought to be 2000 years old. Apart from your yoga sessions, you can also go on walking paths, hiking trails, 4x4 drives, adventure mountain bike routes, guided birding walks, or learn the art of fly-fishing.
Kurisa Moya has incredible trees

A range of treatments ranging from Reflexology to TRE, Cranio-sacral Therapy or Quantam Energy Coaching can be organised.
Accommodation is in a spacious, comfortable farmhouse, situated so as to offer spectacular views of the farm. The house has 5 en-suite bedrooms, a large living and dining area with atmospheric fireplaces and candelabras and a wrap-around patio. Originally inhabited by foresters and still infused with history, the comfortable Farmhouse has a restorative and rejuvenating effect on guests. In this peaceful setting, the stresses of daily living are easily forgotten. Built in 1937, the Farmhouse has been lovingly restored to its original splendour with high ceilings, spacious living areas and old family photos on the long passage walls. Try out the magical "blue bathroom" where you shower in warm sunlight under an accacia tree, looking out onto the tree ferns and terraced gardens. During your free time, you can relax on comfy chairs on the spacious stoep in hidden, ivy-clad corners and simply absorb the mesmerising views or go for a walk in the indigenous forest. After dinner, you can enjoy a sociable time around the fire under a million stars while bushbabies and Wood Owls call into the night.

The maximum group size will be 8 people so book early to avoid disappointment!!
